Medieval Regensburg
Busservice Watzinger will take you from Munich to Regensburg in the morning. The UNESCO World Heritage Site Regensburg offers a total of almost 1000 well preserved historical buildings in a relatively small area, complemented by modern architecture. Hardly any city presents such an interesting variety between Old and New, making the former free imperial city of Regensburg a very popular stopover destination for river cruises on the Danube.
Regensburg was once the wealthiest town in southern Germany and Pope Benedict XVI has enjoyed close ties with Regensburg for fourty years.
On a tour through the narrow streets of the medieval Old Town, discover the sights including the Old City Hall, the "Steinerne Brücke", which is the oldest preserved stone bridge in Germany and the Porta Praetoria, one of the largest preserved Roman Buildings in the country.
Inside the St. Peters cathedral, listen to the internationally renowned Cathedral sparrows boys choir (Domspatzen).
In Regensburg you will also find the "Historische Wurstkuchl", the Historic Sausage Kitchen, said to be the oldest Sausage Kitchen in the world. A "must" for sausage lovers: order the same little pork sausages that were already eaten in the same way by the construction workers of the Stone Bridge during medieval times.
After a full day of food sampling, shopping and sightseeing, Busservice Watzinger will safely bring you back to Munich.
Tour includes the following:
- Transfer by modern long-distance coach with an experienced driver
- Guided walking tours of the historic city center
Rates will be provided upon request and depend on the date of the journey and group size.
